Nexus — Social Community & Live Map App
Feature-packed mobile social platform supporting live friend map tracking, real-time messaging, community groups, event creation, and biometric security.
Why this was built
Social applications often separate location, chat, and community feeds into disjointed tools. Users needed an intuitive all-in-one platform to coordinate with friends on interactive maps, discover local events, and chat in real-time.
Technical Approach
Engineered a reactive Flutter mobile app using Firebase Auth and Cloud Firestore with offline cache persistence enabled. Integrated OpenStreetMap (flutter_map + latlong2) for live friend coordinate rendering, Cloudinary for optimized media uploads, and local_auth for device biometrics.
